Why upgrade now
PrestaShop 9 is the first version built on Symfony 6.4 and requires PHP 8.1 or later. PrestaShop 1.7 and 8 run on PHP versions that no longer receive security patches, and more and more modules and payment gateways are dropping support for older stores.
PrestaShop 9 also brings Hummingbird, a faster and more accessible theme, and a new admin API that makes it easier to connect the store to ERPs, shipping or marketplaces.
The risk is not PrestaShop 9 itself but everything around your store: modules, overrides and a theme that have to be reviewed one by one. That is our job.

Frequently asked questions
How long does an upgrade to PrestaShop 9 take?
It mostly depends on the number of modules and how customised the theme is. After the audit we give you a fixed timeline.
Can I upgrade from PrestaShop 1.6?
Yes. From 1.6 the jump is big and is done by migrating the data to a fresh installation; from 1.7 or 8 the store itself can usually be upgraded. Either way, we do it on a copy first.
Will I lose my Google rankings?
You shouldn’t: we keep your URLs and, if one changes, we 301-redirect it. After the switch we review metadata, sitemap and structured data.
Do I need a new server?
Only if your server cannot run PHP 8.1 or later. We check it during the audit and help with the move if needed.
